BEYONCE ALMOST DONE WITH SASHA FIERCE FOLLOW-UP
Beyonce has been flying surprisingly low under the radar as of late, making quiet appearances out and about at Sunday night's Grammy's and celebrating Kelly Rowland's 30th birthday. The buzz has been pretty low on her new album as well, except for a few details about incorporating more live instrumentation into the production. Well wouldn't you be surprised to know that Bey is about one song away from completing the follow-up to her multiplatinum album I Am...Sasha Fierce. Here's what Australian singer/songwriter Sia, who was asked by producer Diplo to write some songs for Beyonce's new album had to say:
“Well, there’s only one song left for this album, so I probably won’t get on this album, but hopefully the next one . That’s my dream, that’s my goal.”
Sia, who is good friends with Beyonce's sister Solange, also talked about how she is a secret Beyonce stan and how she felt nervous about pitching songs to the more famous Knowles:
Bey] is my Queen, I love her so much! It’s kind of weird because I’m friends with her sister, Solange, but I’m not really an opportunist person, so I’ve never mentioned it to her. So I’ve been trying to work out how I could pitch songs to her or how I could write with her, but without ever utilizing my friendship with Solange.
I am a huge fan of Sia's music, and all her contributions to Xtina's Bionic album were the best cuts. In my opinion she would be great to work with Beyonce on some tracks. As for who else will make the album cut, that's still in the air since mainstream artists who are on a big label often stick with familiar territory (The Dream, Ne*Yo) and don't often step out of the box (Diplo, Sleigh Bells). only time will tell if Bey actually does switch up her sound and try something she's never done before sonically.
