ARETHA FRANKLIN GIVES HER THOUGHTS ON FANTASIA AND THE GRAMMY TRIBUTE FIASCO

Last week Fantasia was asked why she did not show up at the Granny Awards when she won for her song Bittersweet. Tasia gave some excuse that she didn't go because she was not asked to be apart of the Aretha tribute and it would have been hard for her to remain seated while Xtina. JHud and them other girls sang ReRe's greatest hits. Well now Ms. Franklin has expressed her opinion on the matter after she was asked in an interview with USA Today, and believe me her response was harsh but true.

"I was sorry to hear that Fantasia was upset because she did not get the opportunity to participate in my Grammy Tribute this year. I recall that in the past, Fantasia participated in both my MusicCares Person of the Year Tribute and my United Negro College Fund Tribute. Fantasia is still young in the business and although we all love and appreciate her she must understand that in this business of show business she will not always get to participate in everything she would like participate in. I'm sure it was not an intentional omission. I will see Fantasia over the summer here in Detroit."

Since Wendy Williams is heading to Detroit on Friday for an exclusive interview with the Queen of Soul, I hope she askes her about this. I am a huge fan of Fantasia since she's a true country bumpkin, but as for her whining about not being a part of a tribute it's just tacky. Focus on your music and prepare for your role as Mahalia Jackson in the biopic and keep the whining to a minimum.
