Finally a concert I would actually pay top dollar for. Legendary female rap trio Cheryl “Salt” James, Sandy “Pepa” Denton, and Deidre “Dee Dee” Roper (aka DJ Spinderella) are taking their act on a 20-city “Legends of Hip-Hop” tour, which will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1986 debut Hot, Cool, & Vicious. Salt N Pepa pushed the boundaries of sex in their music long before there was a Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, or Nicki Minaj, so respect to these ladies is long overdue. Joining the ladies on tour will be veterans Kurtis Blow, Doug E. Fresh, MC Lyte, Slick Rick, Whodini, Kool Moe Dee, Rob Base, Naughty By Nature, and Biz Markie. Now if this doesn't ring nostalgic, I don't know what does.
Here's what Salt said in a statement: “We encounter so many people who said they long to hear and see us again in concert. People really miss seeing us out there. They come up to us and mention that our music touched them, brings back so many great memories for them, and helped them just see life differently.”
Can someone please record this for a reality show? I actually enjoyed their reality show when it was on VH1. I wonder why they took it off? Anyways, you can check out the tour dates below...
