Megachurch pastor and hypocrite for Jesus Joel Osteen was interviewed by Piers Morgan, and one of the questions asked was that if he thought homosexuality is a sin:
"The scriptures shows that it's a sin. But you know, I'm not one of those that are out there to bash homosexuals and tell them that they're terrible people and all of that. I mean, there are other sins in the Bible too...I don't believe homosexuality is God's best for a person's life."
Well it seems like you're doing one hell of a job bashing people who don't follow your bullshit teachings.
He even had the nerve to judge Elton John and David Furnish, calling them sinners as well:
"Well, it's strictly back to what the scripture says. I mean, I can't grab one part and say God wants you to be blessed and live an abundant life, and not grab the other part that says, you know what? You know, live that kind of life. So it comes back to the scripture. I'm not the judge. You know, God didn't tell me to go around judging everybody."
But like I said before, you say God doesn't go around telling you this, yet you take the opportunity to do just that. It seems to me he doesn't want to accept that God loves all people for the simple fact those people these mega church pastors sell their line of bullshit to from the pulpit of their football field-sized churches that they don't want to lose the fruits of what they've become accustomed to. My god loves and adores all people no matter who they are. My god doesn't make any mistakes and he would not put up with some millionaire preacher distorting his teachings of love, acceptance, and understanding.
I remember the first time Joel was on The View and he pretty much said the same thing regarding his views on homosexuality. They invited him back a second time, and the ladies particularly Joy didn't let him off the hook with his comments regarding homosexuality, which sent him cowering in a corner trying to backpeddle. The scriptures say alot of things about mixing fabrics, keeping blacks in slavery, and eating shellfish, but if that were the case the fashion industry wouldn't exist, Obama wouldn't be President, and Red Lobster would be out of business. What you believe is your opinion, but if you have an opinion about something regardless of what it is, be consistant with it.
Kudos for Piers calling Joel out on his prepared comment regarding homosexuality and sin, and awesome comments defending the gays and your friend Elton John. If you give a shit, Joel's interview with Piers airs tomorrow night on CNN. You can catch a sneak peek below:
