KEANU REEVES WILL REPRISE NEO ROLE IN MATRIX 4 & 5

For those who loved all the action and philosophy that were in the Matrix films, it's being reported that star Keanu Reeves let a little cat out of the bag during his guest of honor speech at the London School of Performing Arts University that he will reprise his iconic role as Neo in the Matrix 4 & 5 which will be shot in 3D.  With the success of 3D filming technology adopted by James Cameron for Avatar, as well as Tron: Legacy (which influenced The Matrix). Keanu confirmed the development during a Q&A session in London when he stated that the Wachowskis have finished work on a two-film script treatment for The Matrix sequels. AICN posted the details of Keanu’s speech, in which they went on to say:

Says the brothers have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pros and cons of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen before. Keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title “The Matrix” and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionize the action genre like the first movie.

My all time favorite sequel was the first one. I liked the other two for different reasons, but if we're talking about the overall package regarding great action, mind bending special effects, and a well though out story, the first one is the best hands-down. I also figured we'd be getting another Matrix movie just like I knew we'd be getting another Kill Bill film. The way they left Matrix Revolutions it felt there was more story to be told. If the Wachowskis can bring something different visually as well as make the script as engaging as the first film, count me in. Matrix is a huge influence on me as a writer and fan of sci-fi action films. I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Update: Wired is reporting that Warner Bros. execs are putting rumors to rest, squashing a report given by Ain't It Cool News that the Wachowskis had written scripts for Matrix 4 & 5. “It’s all bunk,” Warner Bros. spokeswoman Jessica Zacholl told Wired.com by phone, pointing out that a school by that name doesn’t even exist. The studio rep added that the actor made no appearances of any kind in which he discussed Wachowski projects with film students.
