HALLE BERRY TO PLAY ARETHA FRANKLIN IN BIOPIC

The original RiRi announced on the Wendy Williams show that Halle Berry will play her in the biopic of her life.

"For the last four years, we've been talking about [the film], and I have had a number of offers. Unfortunately, they were not good offers," she told the host (via MTV). "Now, we have something on the table. They have all of the financing on one project and the second project, and he's in the process of writing things for me to approve on the tele-film."

For some reason I saw Jennifer Hudson playing the Queen of Soul, maybe because she's a singer and although she lost all the weight reminds me of RiRi. JHud has also transitioned quite nicely as a singer/actress so she can pull off acting and singing with gusto. I'm just glad she didn't say Beyonce. Maybe if they remade Tina Turner's movie, she'd be the obvious choice. Speaking of which, if the script and film is as good as Ray and What's Love Got to Do With It, I will predict that Halle will win another Oscar.
