BEYONCE STEPPING OUTSIDE THE BOX FOR NEW ALBUM

Late last fall when it was announced that Beyonce was working on a new album, many rumors started to fly as to what direction the singer would take for her follow-up to I Am...Sasha Fierce. many thought she would stick to the same tired formula that made her the international superstar she is today. Other rumors stated she was recording an all-dance party record. Well it has been reported that Bey has been working with Producers and Major Laser members Diplo & Switch (who have worked with Christina Aguilera, M.I.A., Rye Rye, Santigold) and Sleigh Bells, (who I believed worked with on her sister Solange's upcoming album) on some new music.

Says Diplo on his website: “me and switch was in studio in nyc tryin to make tracks with derek (from Sleigh Bells)* and beyonce last week after we played her team their album .. dunno if we gonna manage to finish but was good times.”

It's sad that it took for her to work with Lady Gaga to step outside her shell and no longer play it safe musically. Let's see if she can take something completely different that her mainstream stans have not heard before and bring it a pop sensibility. It's one of my pet peeves about pop singers when they play it safe for instant gratification and success.

P.S. This is the early stages of the album, so no word if her collabos with Ne-Yo, Jim Jonsin, and Sean Garrett will make the cut. Beyonce's fourth album will be in stores later this year.
