ANNE HATHAWAY & TOM HARDY TO PLAY CATWOMAN & BANE IN THE DARK KNIGHT RISES

Shaking. Crying. Fucking hyperventilating. After being shrouded in secrecy, The New York Times let a little cat out of the bag (so to speak) for Batman fans. Ever since it was announced that Christopher Nolan was set to direct the third installment in his Batman franchise, fanboys (including myself) were wondering who would be the next villain(s) to take on the caped crusader. After much speculation, it was announced that Anne Hathaway will star as antihero Selena Kyle/Catwoman, and Tom Hardy, who was the first one cast a few months back will play the villain Bane. There were rumors circulating that Hardy would be playing Hugo Strange, but clearly that's not the case. "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story," says Nolan about his choice in casting. "I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies."

This is exciting news. I am a big fan of Anne Hathaway, and I think she's the perfect choice to play Catwoman. Tom Hardy practically stole every seen he was in when he starred in Inception, so playing yet another villain (he was Shinzon in Star Trek:Nemesis) is something he can definitely pull off. Now my question is this? The report that came out a few weeks ago about Talia Al Ghul and Vicki Vale - will they still make an appearance in DKR? I loved both Batman films helmed by Chris (as well as his non-Batman flicks), so I have the utmost faith that he will bring us yet another great movie. Nolan once again will serve as director from a screenplay he wrote with brother Jonathan Nolan, and a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. The Dark Knight Rises will be in theaters on July 20, 2012. Are you guys as excited as I am right now?
