Lourdes Maria Leon has launched her very own blog, where she talks about her favorite color (black because it goes with everything), being obsessed with 80's fashion, her clothing line, and anxiously waiting to turn 14 because that's the age Madonna has allowed her to dye her hair. Since Madonna does a great job keeping her kids out of the spotlight, I think it's great she's molding Lola into a mini-mogul. She would be a perfect role model for girls her age instead of looking up to hot messes Miley Cyrus and Lindsay Lohan. I'm always curious as to what the kids are into, especially their views on movies, music, fashion, and politics. The children are our future, and it would be wise for people in power and in the entertainment industry to keep their ears to the streets to see what trends they are into. Head over to Materialgirlcollection.com for more info.
The very sexy Jake Shears graces the cover of the August issue of The Advocate where he gives some insight on his workout regimen. Here is what he told The Guardian on how he came up with the concept that is Night Work (which is in stores now):
"While in Berlin, he came up with an entirely new concept for the album, based around the music that predominated in early 80s clubland, and, in Britain at least, the charts. 1984 was the year when the top 40 went howlingly, unrepentantly gay in a way never seen before or since: the big new artists were Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Bronski Beat; the hot new indie band was the Smiths; an array of high-energy records – Where Is My Man? (sung by, of all people, Eartha Kitt), So Many Men, So Little Time, I Need a Man, It's Raining Men, Searchin' (I Gotta Find a Man), You Think You're a Man – shifted vast quantities. 'That music worked universally. I think the trick is that sexuality, whether it's gay sexuality or not, is a universal thing. I mean, everyone gets horny. I don't think it really matters what kind of sex is being sung about because I think it still applies to everyone. It's as if the party kind of stopped, and it's no coincidence that happened hand in hand with AIDS. It set back the gay rights movement in a major way. I think we're just moving past this 25-year setback. It placed a big judgment call on [the gay club scene]. Suddenly, there was a big, 'Oh, you had it coming.' I just started wondering where music was headed, where dance music would have headed, where all that would have gone. And Night Work is my hypothesis.'"
The new generation's Mary J. Blige (and my cousin Sophie's favorite kareoke choice) is back with a brand new track called Hold You Down which was produced by none other than Missy Elliott. I always love when Missy takes a classic beat and can bring so much emotion out of her singers, most noteably the few cuts from Monica's latest album. Jazmine's sophomore LP will be out later this year.
Kylie's new album Aphrodite was released in Japan this week, which explains how the album leaked online two weeks before it was released to the rest of the world. Two bonus tracks that will be available on iTunes once the album is released have leaked online. I love the whole album, but I wish it was longer than the standard twelve that appear on full-lengths. She should have included both songs in my opinion. Anyways, have a listen to the Xenomania-produced tracks Mighty Rivers and Heartstrings below:
I love this song and I'm so glad LOGO's NewNowNext:PopLab finally showed it yesterday. Love the colors, and the supermarket as a disco theme. Lolene's debut album, The Electrick Hotel will be in stores in August.
For all those out there trying to start a Kanye/Cudi beef because both artists are releasing their albums on September 14, don't even go there. Check out their collabo called "erase Me' which will be on Cudi's sophomore album, ‘Man On the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager“.
I don't care what people say, and I'm not afraid to admit I am obsessed with Jersey Shore. Cannot wait for season 2 on July 29. I also cannot wait to find out the cast members who won't be returning when they start shooting the rest of the season in Seaside Heights.
Why when I was watching this video I started to think this would be the perfect song to perform on Glee? This very catchy song is from their debut album titled 'Everything.'
Aventura performed on Lopez Tonight on Monday, and all I have to say is it was outstanding. I also loved when George pointed out that they sold out four dates at Madison Square Garden, more tickets than Madonna and Lady Gaga. Yes there are people who aren't white that can fill places bigger than Joe's Pub. NYC stand up!
Now this is something I'd never though I would ever have the privilege of blogging about. Jennifer Love Hewitt stopped in at a bingo fundraiser in West Hollywood for porn star and Zac Efron look-alike Brent Corrigan, and even took a moment to pose for pics.
Says Popbytes:
Yes, that Jennifer Love Hewitt. She took one for the team. I sure hope her homos are proud. Cuz you know she's got 'em! And I sure hope they enjoy the DVD's. Or she does. I guess we shall never know. Though, we wouldn't fault Miss Love if she did get a little curious and popped one in her DVD player one afternoon, now would we?
I am curious if she's ever seen a gay porn movie, and if she has what is her favorite company? Is she a little Rascal? a Raging Stallion girl? Does she enjoy watching twinks get their tight little holes banged out? I'm always curuious to see the dirt and freakiness behind the squeaky-clean images of the celebrities most admire.
Check out Lady Gaga's video message to Constance McMillen, the 18-year-old Mississippian who was discriminated against by her school for wanting to bring her girlfriend to her prom. McMillan also served as grand Marshall alongside Lt. Dan Choi at Sunday's NYC Gay Pride Parade.
As I'm sure you have all heard last season's Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars alum Jake Pavelka and his stage girlfriend Vienna Sausage have called it quits do to the fact that he wasn't interested in using his frequent flyer miles near Vienna's love canal of doom. Well a bunch of nobodies from Bachelor season's past have a theory that he may be gay. Brace yourselves bitches, because this is a doozy.
"Paul Rosseau, who appeared on The Bachelorette, season four, didn’t mince words when he questioned Jake’s sexuality in an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com. 'I definitely think he has gay tendencies, not only because of the way he dresses but also because he didn’t want to have sex with a beautiful girl and never really tried with the other girls on the show.' Paul said, before adding a glib, 'Nothing personal, Jake!' A bachelorette from season 12 didn’t want her name used, but told RadarOnline.com about Jake: 'I think he has gay potential and definitely gay tendencies.' Jake has emphatically denied being gay, but Vienna’s bedroom revelations have kept the controversy flaming. She said in an interview that Jake said premarital sex was a sin, but that was after he abstained from sex to go on a religious fast and after they started their relationship with passion. Vienna detailed Jake’s series of excuses for avoiding intimacy for six months."
I just love when clueless straights who know us gays better than we know ourselves. The closest they've probably gotten near a gay is channel surfing past LOGO. Could it be that he's just not into her, which would be further proof that the entire Bachelor series is bullshit (except for Trista and Ryan, the only couple in the entire series who managed to make their relationship work).
Just as we're starting to get over Newsweek reporter Ramin Noodles Setoodeh's report that gays cannot play straight convinvingly, here comes Joan Rivers, long an advocate for gay rights basically saying the same thing. Here is what Rivers had to say to Brandon Voss in the latest issue of The Advocate.
Says Rivers:
"It’s part of the game. If you’re going to be a romantic idol and try to get every teenage girl to love you, then you’d be an ass to come out and say you’re gay. That’s why Ricky Martin was so smart — he did what he did, he made his millions, and then he said, 'Guess what, everybody? I’m gay, I’m having this life, and here are my children.' It didn’t matter anymore because he didn’t have to bring in 16-year-old girls."
I'm sure people will be angry at Rivers for saying this, but in a way she's partly right. If you are looking to be a product for big movie studios, you have to play the game and reamin behind closed doors. Movies these days are all about selling a fantasy. I wish in a perfect world it would be about an actor convincingly playing a role, but since most American's aren't getting enough ass as it is, they'd rather fantasize about Taylor Lautner fucking them (I see it being the other way around). On the other hand, the times are changing. Adam Lambert came out as soon as American Idol was done, and the most who show up at his concerts are housewives and kids. it would be nice if gay men would support other openly gay artists as well, instead of spending your hard earned cash on Lady Gaga merchandise. Call me naive, but I really believe the American public is becoming a bit more open-minded. I think the more openly gay people who are brave enough to change the game and use their power and celebrity in a positive light, gays will be a force to be reckoned with. Now that the music industry is changing, hopefully the film world will do the same.
Johnny Weir took a moment out of the closet to confess his love for the Beaver. get you minds out of the gutter bitches! I mean he played dress-up with his finest designs made of python, beaver, fox, lynx, and a Balenciaga "tree" of leather bags. Why hasn't Heidi Klum asked Weir to be a guest-judge on Project Runway yet?
It's been a long time since we've had so much great music coming out on the same day. Back in the day when the economy wasn't the shit brick is is now, i used to run to the record store and spend damn near $100.00 on music. These days you're lucky if you can download it for free without a Trojan virus hitching a ride. Kanye West and Kid Cudi recently announced that they will release their albums, 'Good Ass Job' and 'Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager’ respectively on the same day. Not to be outdone, Kelly Rowland will also release her third album 'Kelly Rowland' on September 14th as well as Trey Songz. I'll be purchasing Cudi's, Kanye's and Kelly's albums. I tried to jump on the bandwagon, but I'm not a big fan of Trey's music. He is quite yummy to look at.
Jason Nevins has unleashed a brand new remix of Adam Lambert's latest single, 'If I Had You.' While I do enjoy Glambatar's over-the-top vocality displayed in the original, I'm not feeling this remix as much as I adore Jason's signature dance/rock remixes in the past.
One of the things I love about Kylie is when she goes to different countries to perform live she will drop a few words on the crowd in their native tongue. I particularly love when she speakes French. So on her quest to conquer more of the universe than Madonna, Kylie has recorded a Spanish version of 'All the Lovers' called 'Los Amores.' Enjoy!
Since Bionic is pretty much a flop, Christina is doing all she can to remain in the spotlight. She was recently spotted at a screening for her brand new movie, burlesque alongside Cam Gigandet and Kristin Bell. Now Xtina is gearing up for a guest-starring role on the hit HBO series, Entourage. Christina will play herself in the show's season finale and is also a client of Ari's, played by Jeremy Piven's hair plugs. She will also perform in the episode at Ari's birthday party. Eminem will also make an appearance in the episode, but no word on if he will be playing himself or another character. Director Anthony Mandler also announced that he will be directing Xtina's video for her latest single, 'You Lost Me.'
The Forbes list for the most powerful celebrities in the world was released today which ranks total earnings, press coverage, web rank, TV/radio rank, and social media standing for the past year. Oprah once again was number one, but it was great to see Lady Gaga make the list (due to her earnings from her Fame Monster tour and sacrificing virgin babies so that the Illuminati would grant her endoursement deals with Virgin Mobile, Viva Glam, Monster Cable and Polaroid. Honorable mentions: Taylor Swift at #12, Miley Cyrus at #13, Jay-Z at #15, Black Eyed Peas at #16, Bruce Springsteen at #17, Angelina Jolie at #18, Tyler Perry at #25, Pink at #27, Brad Pitt at #30, Chelsea Handler at #98 and Mariska Hargitay at #100. Unfortunately, Rihanna's beatdown by Chris Brown wasn't enough to get her on the list this year. Hopefully with a much brighter album on the way and the American leg of her Last Girl on Earth tour kicking off on Friday, we may see her hopefully in the top ten next year. Check out the top ten below:
1. Oprah Winfrey - 315 million
2. Beyonce Knowles - 87 Million
3. James Cameron - 210 Million
4. Lady Gaga - 62 Million
5. Tiger Woods - 105 Million
6. Britney Spears - 64 Million
7. U2 - 130 Million
8. Sandra Bullock - 56 Million
9. Johnny Depp - 75 Million
10. Madonna - 58 Million
One of my favorite producers out right now Danja spilled the beans to Rap- Up about the songs he's worked on for Britney's seventh album. As you all may know Danja, who is a protege of Timbaland produced most of her 'Blackout' (my favorite album by Britney) album and a few cuts from 'Circus.'
Says Danja:
“We’re getting things together. I’ve actually been doing tracks that I love and I can’t wait to go into full production mode, but more or so [we're in] pre-production than anything.
On the direction of the album: “We can start one way and end up a totally different way, I really don’t know. I’m definitely gonna do my part and try to make it hard hitting, uptempo, high-energy; that’s what I think we need and that’s what I’m gonna shoot for.”
On working with Britney: “It’s so easy and fun. It’s one of the easiest – probably the easiest sessions I’ve had in my career, so I’m looking forward to getting back in.”
If the songs are adventerous, sexy, and uptempo, you know I'm there. Danja jas yet to disappoint me with a track. I love his work with other artists like Ciara, Keri Hilson and too many others to mention. I'm also hoping he will work on Brandy's new record, since he was seen vibing in the studio with Bran'Nu in one episode of Brandy & Ray J: A Family Business.
In other news, Britney, who I must say is looking better than ever recently trekked over to that horrible tabloid show ET to talk about her upcoming clothing line with Candies. I'm guessing the line will consist of see-through tops, cut-off jeans, Uggs, and truck stop fungus smeared on some tight denim jeans? Oh, and those idiots over at ET need to get their facts straight about Britney being a fashion queen. That's the least she's known for. Somewhere in the world while diving in a maountain of coke, Lindsay Lohan is reeling mad that Britney found a way to make leggings look attractive. Check out her ET interview below:
It's been less than a month since Simon Cowell has left American Idol, and already the rumors are beginning to fly once again on who will replace him. One that is true is that Idol producers have allowed 15-year-olds to audition for the show. If Michael Jackson were alive he would have been perfect to replace Simon now that the age range has been lowered. So if the following rumor does ring true, we may have to settle for Bret Michaels as Cowell's replacement.
Here is what Bret told Parade magazine about possibly replacing Simon:
“I don’t know. We have a meeting in L.A. in a couple weeks and we’re going to sit down and talk. They did a poll and I think it was Madonna, P. Diddy, Howard Stern and myself, and I took 50% or 60% of the vote and that’s tremendous. I would love to be a judge on American Idol. I think I would bring a lot to the table.”
I liked Bret when he was on Rock of Love and Celebrity Apprentice. i know he's doing another reality show with VH1, a sneak peek of the series aired sometime last month. I don't know if Bret would be a proper fit for Idol, but if they have cornballs Ellen, Kara, and Randy still on the show, Maybe Bret would inject some life into what's left of the show. So far my pick for Simon's replacement would have to be Prince. His side-eye of shade during Trey Songz butchering Purple Rain was priceless! Bitch don't even need to talk. He was raised by black folk so we all know by looking at Prince's face exactly what he's thinking.
Another hot single by M.I.A. has bestowed upon us for our listening pleasure, taking her signature electronic blips and beeps to another level by adding some handclaps and distorted rhymes. Teqkilla, which was produced by Switch, was taken from her third album /\/\/\Y/\, which will be in stores on July 13. Now in the meantime her label needs to hurry up and drop the XXXO video.
The long-awaited Scissor Sisters album is finally in stores today, and they have a mayjah announcement. The Scissor Sisters news bit was quite funny. With ads on Rentboy.com and a fake news show, they are coming up with clever way to bring attention to their album. I especially loved the bits from Kelly Osbourne and Amanda Lepore. Now if only they would hire Amanda to do the weather for realz!
Yay! The video has finally arrived. Been fist pumping to Benassi's music since Satisfaction. Glad to see he's back and has changed up his sound a bit. Y'all already know how I feel about Kelis.
I just happened to catch this while watching Attack of the Show on G4 and while I'm not a big fan of the books (everyone else I know loves Harry Potter, but I don't have the patience to read 1,000 pages), but I do enjoy the films. I have to say I'm really looking forward to seeing this in theaters, most likely in 3D. i still have no idea what happens to Harry at the end of the book, and I intend to keep it that way until I see the movie. So while all those ladies (and some of you gentlemen) are wetting your noodles over the next Twatlight saga, this is an end of a series I'm looking forward to being apart of. So before the first film hits theaters in November, check out the trailer below.
Last night's episode of True Blood was a bit of a drag for me, but I truly believe the show will get back on track when it returns in two weeks. I'm just a bit worried because with so many characters on the show (recurring and new), I'm worried some of our favorites will be left on the sidelines. If Alan Ball has many a story to tell, I think HBO needs to extend the show beyond its 12-episode order.
Sookie is really starting to annoy me this season with her nievete and her whining, blind attempt to save Bill. The Hypicritical Tara got her fuck on with a vampire named Franklin, who has a deep interest in Bill Compton. i damn near brought up mu lunch when Sam walked into his new family's home and his father was spread eagled on the couch in a pair of tighty whities that, once removed would have walked themselves to the washing machine. The highlight for me was Jason's dream where he was taking his police exam half naked. That ass is one to be sculpted and examined for the gods. Oh, and so happy Alcide made his first appearance last night. now lets get him out of all those clothes.
Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell snapped a picture with Neve Campbell, who's rocking Dawn Richard from Dirty Money's hairstyle on the set of Scream 4. Shooting for the first of a brand new trilogy began today in Michigan.
I didn't even know Diddy had a beef with anyone, least of all Fiddy. Is this a beef that went completely went over my head? I wonder if this is a ploy on Diddy's part to generate interest in his Dirty Money cd, which keeps getting pushed back farther than John Legend's hairline. As y'all know, I love me some Taraji P. Henson, but I can't believe they're still employing Tigger over at BET.
Gay.com had a bit of a chat with Grease director Randall Kleiser about the original film's re-release next month and asked him who would he cast if they made a gay version of his film.
Who would you cast as the two male leads in the gay version of Grease?
Taylor Lautner. And, I guess, Zac Efron.
Who would he hire to play Rizzo? Justin Bieber?
Personally if this were a porn film I would be interested, because Zac and Taylor starring in a film together would be hotter than Brokeback Mountain. Unfortunately these two together have as much personality as a Sarah Palin sound bite.
How cool is this? One of my favorite electronica icons Björk and Brooklyn, New York rock band Dirty Projectors are dropping a 20-minute, seven-song EP this week. The album will be called Mount Wittenberg Orca, and is said the material was inspired by a family of whales that DP member Amber spotted off the Northern California coast. When you purchase the album, 100% of the sales proceeds will go toward the National Geographic Society's marine conservation efforts. Order the album for $7.00 via Topspin.net on June 30. In this era of Lady Gaga and the like, I am hungry for a new Bjork record.

It's no big secret that ever since Latifah got her very convincing Cleo on in one of my favorite movies Set It Off (Stonie from the Bronx), the rumors about her sexuality have been on the rise. So when she recently did an interview with Upscale Magazine, and 'the question' was brought up once again, here is what she had to say.
Upscale: You've been asked so much about your sexuality. Wouldn't it be easier at this point to just speak on it-once-and be done with it?
Queen Latifah: I don't have to explain anything. I don't have to confirm anything. Look, I need my time. I need my life.
Upscale: But isn't that a part of being a celebrity, letting people into your personal life?
Queen Latifah: You know, I was looking at something the other day. A magazine with Jennifer Aniston on the cover. That's a strong woman right there. All of these people in her business-who is she dating? Angie this. Brad that. They come up with so much stuff. That's a tough situation to be in. My situation is small compared to that. But still, I don't feel like I need to explain. I'm the one living it. You write about it. You go ahead and speculate. I'll just live it.
Upscale: Do you feel like you're understood by the people closest to you?
Queen Latifah: Absolutely. I don't feel like I need to explain things to a perfect stranger. The people who matter know. And they love me for Dana. I don't have to tell Joe Blow. Joe, you worry about who YOU sleeping with.
If people were paying attention last night before she introduced Dirty Money she said 'and he surrounds himself with beautiful women...just like me.' If that ain't confirming what we all knew I don't know what is. We don't need Latifah to confirm if she likes to eat Red Lobster on a daily basis. That case was closed years ago. If black folks are going to get their tits in a twist because they have a hard time believing that there are actual black homosexuals that exist outside of the chuuch choir sect, then it's their problem. I understand Latifah has a business and all, but at almost 40 there's got to be a time where you have got to live your truth. I just yearn for the day when being openly gay in your personal life will not be such an issue.
Over the weekend rumors were flying that Fergie was about to leave the Black Eyed Peas due to she and Will.I.Am not getting along, and she's alleged to want to start a family with husband actor Josh Duhamel. Will who was at the BET Awards last night and even sat next to Fergie at the event quickly put the rumors to rest via everyone's favorite social networking site Twitter.
Says Will.I.Am:
“Don’t believe gossip about fergie leaving the group (we are never breaking up) its all lies!!!”
Of course they're not breaking up. All that international money pouring in. Who the hell would be in their right mind to walk away from that?
This movie is soooo going to be the second coming of Showgirls, good, clean trashy fun...and I can't wait! Here is your first look at the poster for Burlesque, the feature film acting debut for Christina Aguilera and the legendary Cher. Since some people already got an early screening for the film (which they do to see how certain films will test for certain viewing audiences), I'm sure within the next few days a trailer will drop.
Robbie Williams stopped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge recently where he took a moment to perform a cover of ”Human” by The Killers. Bring on some new music Robbie. I truly believe when you truly get inspired you could have the big comeback Kylie's about to get.
Shakira performed at the Glastonbury Music Festival over the weekend, where she performed her hits “She Wolf”, “Hips Don’t Lie”, and the World Cup anthem “Waka Waka”. Then Shaki took a moment to cover the XX's hit 'Islands,' a track that leaked online a few weeks ago. Shakira is currently working on the follow-up to her last record 'She Wolf,' which did not do as well as she had hoped on the charts. The new album is said to feature bilingual songs instead of re-recording radio friendly songs in both English and Spanish. Check out the performances at Glastonbury below:
I am the first to eat crow when I'm wrong, and I believe now is the time for someone to fire up the barbecue. Tonight's episode of the 10th Annual BET Awards was the best I've seen by far. Every performance was on point, my favorites being Alicia Keys, Kanye, T.I., Eminem with B.O.B. & Keyshia Cole, Drake, Dirty Money (who had a bit of a problem with the smoke machine) and an issue with Nicki Minaj's mic, since she basically lip-synched her performance. I hope lip-synching rhymes is not going to become a trend in hip hop. Speaking of Minaj, I really liked her speech where she paid homage to the female rappers who came before her, and stated that she's doing it for the females in hip hop. I hope Lil Kim can move beyond this, squash the beef and just make music. Femcees are just about extinct in hip hop right now, so women need to be allies to each other and not enemies. My top faves were performances by El Debarge, who came out of whatever hole he's been hiding in to perform all the classics. I lived for Monica & Deniece Williams who introduced the nomination for best collaboration by doing a mash-up of Everything To Me which uses a sample from Williams' hit 'Silly'. Kudos on whoever designed Monica's jacket with the puffy shoulders.
Chris Brown's Michael Jackson tribute, which had me gagging when he broke down in tears. I'm sure some will think he was acting with the exaggeration of the tears, but if that performance doesn't show you that we need to get beyond the drama that has stalled his career for the past half year, then you people are much more cruel than I thought. If Rihanna has moved on, so should the rest of the world. The Prince tribute really had me going, especially when Janelle Monae performed. But when Patti LaBelle came out and mama kicked off them shoes, I lost all sense of reality. Queen Latifah did a great job as host, playing to all her past looks including her famous lesbian characters, doing up two different looks as Cleo in Set It Off, and Mama Morton in Chicago. Do we really need her to come out of the closet at this point? Overall despite a few glitches with some of the performances, it was overall a great cohesive show. Hopefully they will keep the person who directed the show this year on for years to come. Check out all the highlights and performances below:
Right after the BET Awards post show, the network gave fans a sneak peek at Trey Songz's 10-part reality series which takes viewers behind the scenes on his tour with Jay Z earlier this year. I had talked about this reality show being in the works a few months back, so it's great to see it finally on TV. Now I'm just looking forward to tomorrow on Centric where they will premiere Keith Sweat's new reality show where he's on a mission to reunite Dru Hill. Hunnnnaaaay, it's about to go down!
I wonder if Rush Limbaugh was there? Lady GaGa performed at Elton John’s 12th annual White Tie & Tiara Ball where she premiered a brand new song called ‘You & I’. There are rumors that the song will be on her untitled third album, but that has yet to be confirmed. Gaga also said before performing the track that this is her rock & roll song, which doesn't get alot of play like her other singles (outside of everything just about produced by RedOne), which goes to show Gaga doesn't have as much control over her music as she claims. I do hope since she is now a global superstar the suits will allow her to show different sides of her musicality instead of always gunning for the aggressive pop track. I remember in the early stages of her career dance music wasn't even the style of music she was gunning for, but the gimmick got people to pay attention. Have a listen to 'You & I' below:
While promoting her 11th studio album, Kylie made a stop at M6 Mobile Music Live in Issy-Les-Moulineaux, France where she performed her new hit single 'All The Lovers' and 'Can't Get You Out of My Head.'
It seems after Rihanna became the big star she is today five years ago, all them girls that came out at the same time have been struggling to make a mark on the charts. First Teairra Mari has been trying to make a name for herself without bringing her kneepads to Def Jam by releasing a couple of songs. Now Brooke Valentine, who for a moment I actually forgot about has a new song that has leaked online called “Tell Ya Boys Goodnight”. Upon first listen the song immediately took me back to Dru Hill's SO So Def remix of "Somebody's Sleeping in my Bed," which was a song I used to jam to back in the day. Truthfully speaking, I liked Brooke's first album (which was not a fully-focused album of standard R&B hits, but did have some gems), but for now I don't really see where she fits in musically in the Beyonce/Rihanna/Gaga world in which we have become Illuminati mind slaves to.
This clip was taken from last week's Graham Norton episode where this big girl appeared on his cam and tried to show Kelly Rowland how to do singing riffs. That laugh of his had me danmn near on the floor crying.
I love this song and can't wait until he releases it as a single and video (with P!nk in the video, of course). My only issue is why did it come off like Em was lip-synching his rhyme? Is it coming to a point where we'll have to pre-record conversations and lip sync to them?
Kylie Minogue made a surprise appearance at the Glastonbury festival in the U.K. where she joined the Scissor Sisters on stage to perform their song ”Any Which Way”, from their forthcoming album ‘Night Work‘. If the Scissor Sisters were smart they would head back into the studio and record this as a remix and stick Kylie in the video. I just love how Jake Shears and Kylie's friendship has blossomed into something so extraordinary. Definitely a match made in heaven these two. I'm not sure if there are many people out there who have the PALADIA channel, but they usually show the Glastonbury concerts. So I will definitely be catching this concert in full with the full experience of a 54 inch HD flat screen with surround sound.
Now that America is slowly catching up with the rest of the world with the infectiousness of dance music, Mya, who is very talented but has always been at the bottom of the totem pole regarding R&B/pop divas. So after no new music released in the U.S. since her album Moodring back in 2003, it's only appropriate that Mya who is an awesome dancer and performer to record an album of electro dance goodies. So far she has recorded 10 tracks with dance DJ/remixer Junior Sanchez, but there's no word if any other producers will come on board.
Here is what Mya had to say to Variety about working with Sanchez:
“Working with Junior Sanchez is an incredibly creative experience. He and his team are true musicians, and we have been having so much fun in the studio – the sound is brand new and completely ferosh.”
I have always been a fan of Mya as a singer and dancer, and I've always felt she got the short end of the stick like many of my favorite other singers like Amerie and Kelly Rowland. I could totally see Mya marketing herself as an international dance artist, since she never did well in the R&B genre. I just hope the music is sexy, edgy and sassy like Mya's personality.
Here is my favorite song from Mya's album, Moodring called 'Whatever Bitch' which if she had made a video for this would have had the kids gagging for points since she was repping them in this song. Also check out Mya in the studio with Sanchez as well.
