TEENA MARIE HAS PASSED AWAY
Lady T, the LEGENDARY blue-eye soul singer who made many a man's peen (including mentor Rick James) stand on end with her fierce vocality has taken a plane to perform with the Heavenly Angels Choir in the sky. She was 54. As of now the cause of death is unknown, but word on the street is that she passed away in her sleep on Christmas night at her home in California. The singer's daughter Alia Rose reportedly found her yesterday morning. I lived for Teena's music growing up as a wee little queen in East New York, Brooklyn when I would sashay around my living room singing 'I Need Your Lovin' at the highest octave my voice would allow me to go. R.I.P. Teena and thank you mommy for introducing me to the music that you grew up on. If not, I would have never discovered the priceless jewels that Teena dropped over the years. Teena's music brought people together on the dance floor, and it didn't matter what color you were. When Teena came on everyone got up and shook their ass. Can artists today say the same thing? More on this story as it develops.
