LETOYA LUCKETT's MUSIC TAKES A BACKSEAT FOR ACTING CAREER

Former Destiny's Child singer LeToya Luckett has managed to do what Beyonce never could - get respect as an actress and play a role that doesn't require her to sing. After starring in films such as The Preacher's Kid and a small role in the horrible ass Ashton Kutcher film Killers, the singer has just nabbed a recurring role on HBO’s critically-acclaimed-but rating's starved series Treme. The show follows the lives of people trying to survive and rebuild a post-Katrina New Orleans.  As many of you may be aware, HBO has some of the best shows on their network, such as Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Entourage, and Big Love.

Don't think she's abandoned her music career. LeToya plans to drop her third album, the follow-up to her brilliant R&B album Lady Love sometime in 2011. I couldn't get into Treme last season for some reason, but now that LeToya is on the show, I just might give it another shot.
