FRESH PRINCE STAR TATIANA ALI EYES TV COMEBACK

It's been a long time since we've seen Tatiana Ali on TV, and starting January 10, that's all about to change. The actress who rose to fame as Ashley Banks on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air (and had a brief career in pop music) and will now star and produce (Martin Lawrence and Raphael Saadiq also produce) a new scripted show called “Love That Girl” debuting on TV One. I love me some Tatiana but I'm a bit bummed because I don't get TV  One. I wish this would have been on VH1 next to Queen Latifah's upcoming scripted series. That would have gotten Tati bigger ratings.

Here's a synposis of the show:

Tatyana Ali stars as “Tyana,” a young divorcee who returns home to southern California for a second chance in life and a career in her father’s (Phil Morris) real estate business. When her unemployed brother Latrell (Alphonso McAuley), an aspiring stand-up comedian, unexpectedly moves in with her, the world that she was trying to create is suddenly turned upside down. Tyana’s new move reconnects her with old friends, especially her best friend Nefertiti (Kendyl Joi) who is happily single and ready to help her friend get her groove back!

The show has already been picked up for 26-episodes, so the writers have plenty of time to get the tone of the show right. Since Bentley Kyle Evans (showrunner of “Martin” and “The Jamie Foxx Show”), Jeff Franklin (creator of “Full House” and “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper”), Raphael Saadiq (Grammy-winning recording artist, composer and producer) are all on board this series, it looks like Tati's in great hands.
