MARK WAHLBERG TO PLAY NATHAN DRAKE IN UNCHARTED FILM

It looks like Nathan Fillion, who in my opinion is a far better choice has lost out on the role of a lifetime. Actor Mark Wahlberg confirmed to MTV that he will play yet another character based on a videogame, this time he will play Nathan Drake in one of my favorite PS3 games Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. The film will be directed by David O. Russell. This will be the third time Wahlberg was worked with Russell, the last two times for Three Kings and the soon-to be-released The Fighter with Christian Bale.

Mark Wahlberg, who last played a character based on a videogame in Max Payne, also said that Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci may have roles in the upcoming film as well.

I wonder if Wahlberg had to talk to his priest before taking on this role? Since Nathan Drake is in his late 20's and a bit of a smartass,  I really don't see Wahlberg doing this role justice. He's far too serious and intense for a role this big. I feel this is a problem in Hollywood that there are no younger versions of Stallone, Jason Statham, and Jet Li that can not only bring the acting chops, but do the crazy stunts required. Since there's nothing we can do about Wahlberg taking the role, just hope and pray real hard that it's 1000 times better than Max Payne. You can watch Wahlberg talk about his Uncharted role as well as the rumors regarding him playing The Crow in the much-talked-ablut reboot in the video below.
