I know many people out there suffer from short term memory loss due to the overwhelming amount of information fed to them daily on the web, but let's take it back to early 2010, shall we? Remember when Mariah Carey's Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel flopped hard and there was word that Island/Def Jam were planning on releasing two remix albums, one titled "Angel's Advocate" which was to be remixed entirely by the Jump Smokers? The album was supposed to come out over the summer, but sadly Mooriah's label pussed out and shelved the project altogether.
I remember thinking not too long ago (not too sure if I mentioned this on the blog or through conversation with some friends) why not premiere the tracks at club events so that the fans can hear the songs Def Jam doesn't want to come out? Or at least leak them online? Well like my mama always said 'ask and you shall receive.' I also really think Def Jam made a mistake by not releasing this. This record would have come out at a time where every pop artist wasn't jumping on the dance bandwagon and I believe would have helped recover Memoirs from being the original uninspiring R&B disaster it was. Oh well another one bites the dust. Maybe that's why they're trying to cover their embarrassment by shoving RiRi into the current dance trend? Anyways have a listen to "Angels Cry" with Pitbull & NeYo as well as Candy Bling below...
