Screenwriter/directorTony Gilroy revealed to Hollywood Elsewhere that he’ll write and direct a fourth Jason Bourne film, but that Matt Damon will not be in the upcoming Bourne Legacy. “The easiest way to think of it is an expansion or a reveal,” Gilroy says. “Jason Bourne will not be in this film, but he’s very much alive. What happened in the first three films is the trigger for what happens. I’m building a legend and an environment and a wider conspiracy…the world we’re making enhances and advances and invites Jason Bourne’s return [down the road].”
Ummm..it's not really a Bourne movie if you don't have Matt Damon in it, but that's just my opinion. So does this mean he's keeping the Bourne name but is looking for a new person to join the faanchise, ala Daniel Craig reviving the Bond films? If so, might I recommend Tom Hardy or Chris Pine?
