TRAILER TRASH: MILDRED PIERCE

Here is your first look at Todd Haynes' four-hour remake of the Joan Crawford classic Mildren Pierce which stars Kate Winslet as the title character, Guy Pierce as Monte, Patty Clarkson as Eve Arden, and Evan Rachel Wood as the troubled Veda. I am a huge fan of classic films, mostly films by Bette Davis, Crawford, Ava Gardner, and Marlene Dietrich. I know most would groan that a classic is being remade, but HBO has a good track record with their original programming, and it doesn't hurt that Haynes is the director. Oh, and any remake is better than that version of "The Women" that came out a few years back.
