RYAN SEACREST INTERVIEWS THE NEW IDOL JUDGES

With the industry's worst kept secret now out of the bag, I'm really hoping this dynamic works when the show comes back in January. I will be the first one to tell you that I haven't watched the series since Fantasia won, but just out of curiosity I will check it out and see how they all gel together. Steven Tyler I feel will bring the kooky rock star side to the show (a guy who was making music before I was born I'm sure has seen and done some shit, but i do wish Elton John would have gotten the gig). Jennifer Lopez better not spend the whole show trying to be pretty and bring the Jenny from the Bronx appeal to the show, and make sure she sticks with her opinion instead of becoming a flip flopper just so her opinions don't get booed. As for Randy, well we already know he's not going to bring anything but take up space at the judges table (sidebar: when is he coming out of the closet?). As for Ryan's comment about contestants wanting to be Jennifer Lopez, i think they want her status more than wanting to be JLo. I mean, let's be real - Jennifer's pop music has been mediocre at best. Her music has never been at the level of let's say, a Beyonce or hell even a Rihanna.
