It's no big secret that Beyonce's been in the studio working on some tunes for her follow-up to I Am...Sasha Fierce." Well word on the street is that with the next few weeks we may get a new single (ladies) from the "Irreplaceable" singer. Here is what The-Dream & Tricky’s right hand man Los Da Mystro tweeted about a new Bey single:
“Listening to new B record Dream wrote” he says “F*cking insane! Wow! She about to kill the game again! Had to listen again!! Ya’ll [will see] in 3 weeks!” When pressed by fans if this was really true, he later added: “That’s what they’re saying now. But it is the music business. It could be sooner or later.”
Damn Kelly Rowland can't get a fucking break. Here she's been working relentlessly on releasing new songs for the past four months, and Beyonce goes in the studio for a couple of weeks, lays down some vocals and already they're planning on dropping new music? I guess when you've worked hard for over a decade, you can just go in the studio, sing other people's songs, pretend you wrote it, and then drop an album faster than you can say Rihanna. Jim Jonsin told Rap Up last week that he wants Beyonce to go in an 80's electro direction (a la Depeche Mode) for a few tunes he was working on, and since word has been going around that the new record will be largely uptempo, I am curious as to what the song will sound like. For all we know, we may have another "Single Ladies," one of the biggest songs of her career on our hands. I am in severe denail about this, so until I actually hear this bit of tea spill from Beyonce's mouth, I'm going to put this in the rumor file. On the other hand, she is a pop star who's expiration date is quite near, and with the foundation she's built as a mogul, she can't afford to take a decade off like a Sade. Beyonce's not a risk taker like Justin Timberlake, who has turned his back on his solo career to focus fully on acting. She can't afford to be out of the spotlight for a long period of time, because she has competition like Gaga, Rihanna and Shontelle ready to snatch her crown.
