While stopping by the Chris Moyles Show on BBC Radio 1, actor Michael Caine, who was there to promote his new autobiography gave the listeners some insight on when we should expect a new Batman film. He said the movie will "probably start in May next year..." Asked if he will be part of the cast, he said, "I assume I'm there. In the movie business, you never believe anything, you assume."
Warner Bros. Pictures is targeting a July 20, 2012 release for the next film, and Christopher Nolan, who confirmed to Empire that he will indeed direct the next film is keeping tight-lipped about who will be the villain in the next film. My hopes for Catwoman and the Riddler to be in the next film. I also hope the rumors will be true regarding Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Riddler. As for Catwoman can I recommend Rhona Mitra? She's quite sexy. I think a British cat burgular would be awesome. If she doesn't get the part I hope they hire her as the lead when they decide to reboot the "Tomb Raider" franchise. If he decides to not use the usual Batman villains, he could use less popular but more sinister villains like the Ventrilouist, Black Mask, Killer Moth, Deathstroke, Fire Fly, Hugo Strange. Also I would like to see Nightwing in the film at sometime, because I definitely enjoyed his appearance in the Batman: Under the Red Hood animated film. Oh, and before I close out this post, how about titling the next movie The Dark Knight Returns?
