Here is my girl Janet Jackson looking better than ever out and about with billionaire boyfriend Wissam Al Mana as they took a stroll through midtown Manhattan yesterday. Jackson, who split with Jermaine Dupri back in 2009 after seven years, met the 35-year-old Qatari businessman when she performed at an event in the Middle East last December. Wissam and Janet spent alot of their romantic time together in Sardinia this summer and word on the street is that he's helped her cope with her brother Michael's death. Wissam is director of Al Mana Retail, a shareholder in Saks Fifth Avenue stores in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait. The two went public earlier this year when they showed up together at a fashion event.
I've also realized that Janet has a specific type of guy she goes for. She lives for the light and curly types. She briefly married James DeBarge. Then she was secretly married for over a decade to Rene Elizondo. Now she's with Wissam. I look at her relationship with JD as a minor snafu. More like a business arrangement. She was feeling ugly on the inside (she said that Jermaine appreciated her even when she was feeling fat and insecure), so she hooked up with someone ugly to mask her pain and hurt. She looked to him to deliver her some hits like Mariah, but when it didn't pan out they went their separate ways. It may sound ugly how I'm putting it, but it is what it is.
But never mind their new relations. Let's take a moment for Ms. jackson's boots. Now if you thought the knee-high boots Lenny Kravitz was sporting earlier in the week were fierce, he ain't got nothing on Miss Janet.
As you know Janet has a new movie with Tyler Perry coming out in November, but I'm really hoping her new relationship, plus all the drama she went through regarding MJ will be enough of a spark to get her into the studio and record some new music.
