SUPERNATURAL WILL GO ON WITHOUT SHOW'S CREATOR

In the beginning of season 5, creator Eric Kripke spoke out about not returning for another season of the CW hit series. There was also word that Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who play demon-hunting brothers Sam & Dean Winchester would leave the show if Kripke left. Well according to Entertainment Weekly, the spooky CW drama has indeed been renewed for a sixth season – despite showrunner Eric Kripke's firm stance that Supernatural is a five-season show.

Kripke will not return as showrunner next season, instead executive producer Sera Gamble will take over Kripke's job. Kripke and his partner Robert Singer will still be very "hands-on executive producers" which should keep fans happy and prevent the show from suffering the same fate as the last season of Gilmore Girls when the creators stepped away from the final season.

"Eric and Bob will be working very closely with Sera," said EW's insider. "They are not abandoning the show."

Kripke, who is reportedly developing a new show for the CW, spoke to EW about continuing the show:

"I'm looking at [Season 5] as the last chapter in this particular story," he said. "That doesn't mean there can't be a new story. Buffy did it. The X-Files did it. You close a chapter on a big mythology storyline and then you begin a new one."

As I have said time and time again I love this show, and as long as they continue to keep the right tone of the show, and don't jump the shark, I will continue to stand by this show. If you guys begin to jump the shark, hopefully the show will go out on a high note before that ever happens.
