SINEAD O'CONNOR BELIEVES THERE SHOULD BE A FULL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION AGAINST THE POPE

Singer Sinead O'Connor, who made headlines back in 1992 when she ripped up a photo of the Pope as she shouted, 'fight the real enemy' recently spoke out about the Catholic church's inability to protect children from child-molesting priests that they deal with by sending them to another church instead of removing them altogether. It really pisses me off when I read stories about a Catholic priest who molested 200 deaf boys, and when it was reported, the Vatican turned a blind eye.

Here is what O'Connor said to the L.A. Times:

"There should be a full criminal investigation of the Catholic hierarchy of any country in which this has been an issue. There should be a full criminal investigation of the Vatican. There should be a full criminal investigation of the pope. The pope should stand down for the fact that he did not act in a Christian fashion to protect children, and for the fact that his organization acted to preserve their business interests decade after decade rather than be concerned about the interests of children, and for showing so much disrespect for Christ, God, the victims, the rest of us, their own clergy. . . . The Vatican and the pope need to get on their knees and confess the full truth in the same language they make us use in Mass. . . . They need to get on their knees, open everything up, be transparent, tell the truth, ask the people for forgiveness and prayers."

They'd rather tell homosexuals they're going to hell and demonize women who make the tough decision of having an abortion than dealing with a problem that has plagued the Catholic church for a long time, and that's allowing priests, some who are convicted child molestors to continue to serve in their clergy. Sweeping it under the rug all these years hasn't worked, so why does the vatican believe keeping quiet is going to work now. I truly believe Sinead was right when she said fight the real enemy, and the real enemy is this joke of a religion called catholicism which basically stole bits and pieces of other religions and decided we're going to tell people they're going to hell because they're doing something we don't approve of. We will fix you and make you perfect for a price. I could go on forever, but many who know me knows I believe religion is an institution created by man to keep weak-minded people enslaved because they don't have the balls to live their life as they see fit and not by other people's standards.
