After years of never confirming or denying his sexual orientation, actor Sean Hayes sat down with The Advocate and let his rainbow flag fly:
“I am who I am. I was never in, as they say. Never.”
“Why would you go down that path with somebody who’s done so much to contribute to the gay community?” he asks. “That was my beef about it. What more do you want me to do? Do you want me to stand on a float? And then what? It’s never enough."
“I feel like I’ve contributed monumentally to the success of the gay movement in America, and if anyone wants to argue that, I’m open to it. You’re welcome, Advocate.”
I couldn't agree with him more. It seems in this day and age, it's never enough to just be gay in Hollywood. It's like we need to be in the middle of a bareback cum dumping orgy and have it uploaded to XTube in order for people to move beyond what people do in their bedrooms. If you're not on the frontlines with a beret on your head or your fist in the air, you're not contributing to gay civil rights. I do hope his meaning of contributing to the gay American movement does not include eight years of that walking stereotype Will & Grace. Congrats Sean, and much continued success to you.
