Check out this video of homophobic school superintendant Ramon Cortines who took it upon himself to suspend three teachers without pay for including OJ Simpson, Dennis Rodman, and the legendary RuPaul in their African-American parade. I could understand going after the teachers for including a partying drunk like Dennis Rodman, who's hanging on for dear life to whatever fame he has left by allowing cameras to follow him around in rehab, as well as the murderer known to millions as O.J. But to include RuPaul amung these two clowns is an insult. Ru has done outstanding work for our community and has helped many gay children of color, including myself embrace their true selves and refuse to live in fear and ridicule. His success is partly the reason why I do what I do as an entertainer. Heshows us we can do anything we want in life even if it's in heels. I'm so sick of people who can't look beyond the drag and see what a beautiful person Ru is inside and out. It's like because you do drag as a profession you can't be taken seriously as a human being.
Oh and to answer the superintendant's question of where are the doctors and scientists? If this country spent less money on building jails and more money on education, maybe these kids would see they can be whatever they wanted to be beyond wanting to be a basketball player, football player, or rapper which are professions that are glorified moreso than careers that don't come with endoursement deals. Also who the hell is he to say what black people do with themselves is deemed appropriate or inappropriate? This heifer needs to go sit in a corner somewhere and look down. What do you guys think?
