I have some good news and some bad news. As all the lambs are aware, Mariah was planning to release two remix albums this year, one being a R&B/pop album called Angel's Advocate and an an electro-house remix album produced entirely by Jump Smokers titled, Mariah Carey VS Jump Smokers. All these remixes came about after Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel flopped and people refused to pay to see her on tour stand around for two hours and wave her hand as if she was hailing a cab. Well her label Island/Def Jam has decided not to release the Angel's Advocate cd (probably due to Up out my Face and that other track she did with Ne*Yo flopping recently on the charts) and has instead decided to release the Jump Smokers remix album instead. Smart move on their part. Jump Smokers announced via their Facebook page that the album will be out this summer. For those who still want those songs from Angel's Advocate (which have been removed from retailer's lists), if you search real hard you can find them on the internet.
To be honest (as I always am), I was looking forward to the Jump Smokers remix album more than Angel's Advocate, because all this corny R&B/pop Mimi has been doing has been working my nerve to no end. As soon as these remixes get played in the club, I'm sure it will get her those sales she's been dying to have. I'm not saying we need to see Mariah dancing anytime soon, it just might mean she may have to get more creative in her live shows.
Mariah Carey VS Jump Smokers will be in stores in May. The Jump Smokers new album Kings of the Dancefloor comes out in July.
