While Janet has two okay songs circulating on the internet as we speak (Heartbeat Love and Nothing), don't think she's busy working hard on a new album like rumors have suggested.
Here is what Janet had to say about the album rumors:
“There was a time where I was actually in the studio and I was recording, but I’m not working on an album. There have been a lot of record labels that have asked me to sit down and talk with them, but I don’t know if I want to do something completely independent, or go with a major.”
I was in the bar this past Sunday with some friends of mine, downing Cosmos like an alcoholic, when her video for 'Make Me' came on. First thing alot of my friends agreed on is Janet needs to switch up her sound. She's been stuck doing the same routine musically, artistically and choreographically since Rhythm Nation. Her music needs to mature. It seems like she's trying to hold on to an era that once was instead of allowing herself to age gracefully. Whatever your decision I am behind you 1000%, but I think she needs to take a page out of the Madonna handbook and reinvent herself.

WOW....Janet should take a page from Madonna's handbook.....
That was a dis if I ever heard one and Janet's moves are so legendary that some people just can't stand it. She is one of the only artist to dance like she does and other artist, especially young female artist have taken a cue from Janet's handbook.
People want to believe that Janet hasn't changed her steps since Rhythm Nation but you know her moves were so-ahead-of-her-time back then, that people are now just catching up.
If it's not broke then don't fix it.
I hate to bring Michael in this but MJ never switched up his style of singing, dancing and all the above and that was to his dying day.
When you look at videos that he did, you know that they were instant classics when they were new.
Janets videos give me the same feeling.
Trend setting, groundbreaking and innovative are just a few words to describe the late and great MJ and his kid sister Janet.
I love Madonna but Janet trumps Madonna and always have but because Janet is a Jackson and she is Black female and she gets love but not that Madonna love.
The masses see Madonna as this self-made woman and Janet as someone that had opportunities because of her lineage. I think being a Jackson helped but not that much because Janet blazed a trail all on her own.
People tend to forget just how incredible Janet is. Janet has been in the entertainment business since she was 7 years old. Singing, dancing and acting and even when there are people like you, that seem like fans but talk out the side of your neck, about what Janet should do to stay in the game. I don't think you understand but Janet help created the game and has been just as beautiful and gracious as one should be. Madonna came in and created her own niche but stepped on a great deal of people on her way up to the top. People like Madonna are wonderful business people because they don't mind firing or talking trash on someone to get what they want. Janet didn't take that approach and did ok but never has gotten the recognition for being this incredible artist. Most of her albums including songs that not only did she write the songs but did the arrangements, sung background vocals and even played instruments. Being multi-talented is an understatement because she took her cues from artist of the past; she had to be a triple threat in business, multi-taksing in the studio and attempting to keep people from saying horrible things about her family.
No one has never told Elvis before he passed to switch up his style. Even better is how no one tells Streisand to sing in a different way and try to age gracefully, vocally. All of Streisands songs sound exactly the same and instantly you know who it is singing. Her voice is her trademark, just like Janet isn't no Streisand but vocally she isn't the worst singer or the best, she can carry a tune with the best of them, just like Madonna.
In my opinion and it's only my opinion but Janet's voice has always been better.
Why would Janet do anything different,now.
The people like me who love her, will always love her and people like you, will always have something to say to keep her down. Remember it's hard to hold a good woman down and Janet is tops. Don't hate.
