BARBRA WALTERS REGRETS ASKING RICKY MARTIN THE GAY QUESTION

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Barbara Walters did an interview with Toronto Star a few days ago, and they asked her what was the one question she regretted asking a celebrity in her career. Her answer? Pushing Ricky Martin to admit that he was a slave to the peen. Just watch how Ricky increasingly becomes, hoping and praying the gay question doesn't come up. Here's what Baba Wawa had to say:

"In 2000, I pushed Ricky Martin very hard to admit if he was gay or not, and the way he refused to do it made everyone decide that he was. A lot of people say that destroyed his career, and when I think back on it now I feel it was an inappropriate question."

Check out a clip of the interview below...

This question was asked at the brink of the Anglo crossover point of his career. He was breaking out of the shadow of Menudo, General Hospital and a hot career in the Spanish market. I'm sure he was advised to stay in the closet for the sake of record sales, but truth be told, there's no escuse now for staying in the closet. Every latin straight friend I have believes he is gay, so there's really no reason to continue to perpetrate a front.
