Tracey Thorn, one half of the electronic duo Everything But The Girl has just released her third solo album (since 2007's Out Of The Woods), this time collaborating with Massive Attack and The Unbending Trees. Where her previous effort flirted with the uptempo dance styles that put EBTG on the map, this time around she takes the downtempo approach, opening up about divorce, failed relationships and the passage of time (she married EBTG partner Ben Watt last year, who she was engaged to for 27 years). Whatever soundscapes she takes on, it's always been Thorn's vocals that have had me at hello. Now here's hoping we get another EBTG album very soon. Tracey's album will be in stores May 18, 2010.
