How excited was I to hear the news that R&B songstress Toni Braxton is the latest celebrity to sign on for their own reality show.
The show will be called “Braxton Family Values” and will premiere this fall on Bravo, which features some of my favorite reality shows such as "Top Chef," "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List," and “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”.
Here is what we can expect to see on the show.
I don’t think people have any idea what they’re about to see. They have no idea. I’m Miss Congeniality. That’s all I can say. My family’s very animated and it’ll be entertaining.
Will there be lots of drama?
There will be some personal things about everyone. My mom and my sister Tamar will probably be the drama.
Will your two sons be part of it?
Not really, no. I have a special-needs son and I like to be able to control that with him, and I don’t want to exploit him in any kind of way. They might catch them if they’re passing through trying to get something. “Mom, where’s my iPod?” It’s not something where I’m trying to showcase them
Do you watch any other celebrity reality shows?
I watch Fantasia and her brother. It’s a riot! Of course I’ve seen Keyshia Cole. I watch a lot of them because that’s pretty much what’s on television right now, so you can’t help but watch it.
So many singer have their own reality shows now. Keyshia Cole, Fantasia, Monica, now Brandy and Faith Evans are jumping on the bandwagon. It's so sad that unless you're Beyonce, Lady Gaga or Rihanna the music industry doesn't have room for you, so talented singers who are considered veterans in this game have to resort to going on reality TV in order to remind music buyers that they are still around. I love me some Toni, but I really hope by that Miss Congeniality comment that she's not going to allow her family to overshadow her like Frankie & Neffe did to Keyshia Cole.
I'm not one to exploit the keedz, but I think she should show how she copes with having a son with special needs. That way it will make her seem relateable and real which TV-goers love in the stars they watch. It will also give insight to people who have no idea about autism.
Hopefully, Someone will have already uploaded Toni's interview with Wendy Williams today so I can post it up on the blog. Also her new album Pulse drops on May 4.
