Move over RuPaul, because you've got some fierce competition heading your way. According to Cybersocket, Film & TV producer Larry Kennar (The L Word, Barbershop and 50 First Dates), Project Runway designer Jack Mackenroth and award-winning producer/director/owner of COLT Studio John Rutherford have joined forces to produce a new reality show called The Queens of Drag: NYC. After the success of Drag Race, studios are looking for a drag hit of their own, so what better time than to highlight NYC's hottest drag queens' lives in and out of drag as they try to dominate the New York nightlife scene and navigate through the struggles of making it in the shiniest, filthiest, amazing, and must unforgiving city in the world.
Among those cast on the show is Drag legend Lady Bunny along with Hedda Lettuce, Sherry Vine (of the Gaga Bad Romance parody fame), Bianca Del Rio, the very popular Peppermint and Mimi Imfurst. Also be on the lookout for Epiphany Get Paid, Logan Hardcore, Chandilier Period, Kevin Aviance, and Dallas DuBois. How long before we get spin-off shows highlighting drag queens in LA, DC, Atlanta, Miami, etc.? I can't wait!
