Lee Alexander McQueen, who is known for his avant-garde, risk-taking designs worn by celebs such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Sarah Jessica Parker was found dead in his London home on Thursday. He was 40-years-old. Details surrounding his death have yet to be released, but according to MSNBC, his death so far is being ruled a suicide. No word on what will happen to the collection, but I'm sure the show will go on with his assistant taking a bow in McQueen's place.

Ever since I could remember I have been a fan of McQueen's fashions. His stage shows were mind-boggling, and his fashions bold, controversial, and awe-inspiring. He was a huge influence on me as someone who loves fashion more than food and sex. Anyone who is willing to take risks, think outside the box, and is willing to go against the rules definitely gets a vote in my book. McQueen along with Vivienne Westwood, Patricia Field, John Galliano and even Christian Siriano (who interned for McQueen before winning Project Runway) are among my faves. McQueen's stamp on the fashion world was one of a kind and he will most certainly be missed. I will all you fashionistas updated on this story as it progresses.

Update via The Daily Mail:

40-year-old fashion designer Alexander McQueen committed suicide just days after the death of his mother, Joyce. His death also comes just three years after his close friend, Isabella Blow - who plucked him from obscurity and helped him become a star - killed herself after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. McQueen was found at his luxury flat in Green Park, central London. It is believed he hanged himself. A source at McQueen’s office this afternoon confirmed his death, saying: ‘It is a tragic loss. We are not making a comment at this time out of respect for the McQueen family.’ His death comes just days before the start of London Fashion Week and weeks before he was due to unveil his new collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 9...
