ZOMBIELAND SCREENWRITERS TO WRITE G.I. JOE SEQUEL

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

After the success of one of my favorite horror films of 2009, Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have become Hollywood's go-to writers for hire. not only are they going to be busy writing the script for the Ryan Reynolds spin-off Deadpool. Now comes word from IESB that there's talks for the duo to write the sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra for Paramount.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, directed by Stephen Sommers, cost about $175 million to make and earned $301.5 million worldwide. The action-adventure stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Byung Hun Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Said Taghmaoui, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans and Dennis Quaid. While G.I. Joe was loaded with awesome action sequences, what bothered me about the film was lack of plot and the development of characters. Hopefully with Reece & Warnick on board, all of that will soon change.
