Another celebrity death has plagued us early in 2010. Soul singer Teddy Pendergrass passed away at a hospital in suburban Philadelphia, according to his son, Teddy Pendergrass II. Pendergrass, 59, who was known for hit songs such as "Turn Off the Lights" and "Love TKO," underwent colon cancer surgery eight months ago and had "a difficult recovery," his son said.
"To all his fans who loved his music, thank you," his son also said. "He will live on through his music."
Back in 1982, Pendergrass suffered a spinal cord injury and was paralyzed from the waist down in the 1982 car accident. He spent six months in a hospital but returned in 1984 with the album "Love Language."
R.I.P. Teddy. my prayers go out to you and your family.
