It seems we are getting two more acasualties on the hit CW series, 90210. After season 2 comes to an end, Rob Estes, who plays Principal Wilson and Jennie Garth, who of course plays Kelly Taylor have quit the series.
According to Radar Rob Estes and The CW had a NBC/Conan moment when they couldn't work out an agreement over his contract. Rob wanted to be paid more money, even though he isn't the one carrying the show. The network refused to show him the money and told him to do like Toni Braxton and hit the freeway.
A source said, “Rob’s not happy about it all. Basically they couldn’t agree on money and that’s all it comes down to. Rob’s an experienced actor and feels he deserves to be compensated accordingly, but the CW just want to cut costs and they want to reward all these young, hot, up and coming, and therefore cheaper, actors and actresses instead."
According to Jennie's manager, she never wanted to be a regular on the show and wants to pursue other projects (meaning going back to doing absoluteny nothing like she did when the first 90210 wrapped production in the mid nineties). I guess the writers will pursue the storyline where Rob's and Kelly's characters go through their feelings, which will probably have Lori Loughlin raising Annie and Dixon as a single mom.
Or maybe if they're feeling a bit more competish, why not go over th Melrose Place. Now that's a show that could use some saving.
