After surprisingly learning that there were more American fans who loved Kylie more than she realized, she has focused on working with American producers to finally crack the tough USA music market.
Among the plethora of producers she is working with on her 11th studio album (The Scissor Sisters, Xenomania, Calvin Harris, Stuart Price, etc.) she has recently added Lady Gaga producer RedOne to the roster of collaborators.
I like RedOne but only for Lady Gaga. I understand she's the biggest pop star of the moment and everyone's excited about her productions, but I think Gaga and RedOne have that magic that clicks just like when Missy and Timbaland work together. They bring the best out of each other. To work with RedOne (who has yet to produce a really good track for other strists outside of what he does for Gaga) I feel is a step back for her. Kylie's best work is when she lays those sweet whispery vocals over a hard-edged electro beat or a smooth R&B track. SoI'm really hoping some good comes out of her sessions with RedOne.
Kylie’s last album X didn't sell to well here, only selling 38k (but that could be due to the fact that by the time her record gets here, her American fans have already bought it on import). Her label Paralaphone states that the 41-year-old pop superstar wants to make America more of a priority, after having a blast on the two-week tour she did here back in October.
