FANTASIA FOR REAL

I have been a fan of Fantasia's ever since she sang her way to the top of American Idol a few years back. Although she didn't win, whe did enjoy modest success with two albums and a stint with Broadway's 'The Color Purple.' Now Fantasia has returned to the spotlight with a brand new reality series where VH1 cameras follow her around as she tries to get her financial priorities in order, studies for her GED, and works on her new album. What I've always liked about Fantasia is she reminds me of Mary J. Blige in the sense that she's a singer who sings from the core of her soul and isn't interested in being a polished manufactured pop star. With the success of Monica:Still Standing over on BET, I really hope that when people get to know the real Fantasia, they will actually go to the stores and support her music.
