CINDY McCAIN SHOWS SUPPORT FOR MARRIAGE EQUALITY

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

You know there's something drastically wrong when someone who is married to the man who lost to the current president shows her support for gay rights and marriage equality and the President we have now is taking his sweet time getting behind. Cindy is no stranger to the gays. She has mentioned in the past that she has hung with gay Republicans. It would have been nice if she would have spoken up against her husband (who was for Prop 8 during his presidential run). but I'm sure his party advised her to keep quiet because they were trying to win an election. Here is what photographer Adam Bouska had to say about McCain's photo:

"Aligning yourself with the platform of gay marriage as a Republican still tends to be very stigmatic, but Cindy McCain wanted to participate in the campaign to show people that party doesn't matter - marriage equality isn't a Republican issue any more than it is a Democratic issue. It's about human rights, and everybody being treated equally in the eyes of the law that runs and protects this country."

I think as a nation we need to come at marriage from a financial issue rather than a moral. As I have said before I could give a fuck what people think about me and who I sleep with. I just want marriage for the fact that should myself and my partner leave this world, we shouldn't have to pay a 50% state tax while married people continue to get all the priviledges they are allowed to get.
