After hearing this news, I know there is a GOD in heaven. After bombarding us for so many years with tours, videos, movies, and countless hits, Beyonce has finally decided to take a six month break from the entertainment industry. I like Beyonce but sometimes some of these artists need to pull a Xtina (or hell even a Sade) and disappear for a while. At least give us some time to miss having you around.
"It’s definitely time to take a break, to recharge my batteries," says Beyoncé, 28. "I’d like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again."
"When I got home, I wrote out a contract with myself. I made a list of everything I want to do that has nothing to do with music. Well, some of it does. But I promised myself that I would not go back on tour or in the studio until I finished these things."
"It will be the hardest thing in the world for me to make myself not do an album and shoot a video and turn it in and say, 'I’m ready!' I already have all these melodies and ideas in my head. I have to tell myself, ‘Sit down! Sit down!’"
As a fellow artist myself, I can tell you first hand that you can't turn off creativity, but Beyonce has been working non stop for so long she needs to recharge and come back fresher than ever. I think what she means is that she won't be in our faces for six months. I'm sure she'll be hibernating away in the studio working with some high-profile producers on her next cd. So more than likely we can expect some new music from Bey sometime at the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011. in the meantime we should be expecting to see her in Lady Gaga's video for 'Telephone' any day now.
