Back in October, a certain gossip blogger who colors his hair every other day and faithfully sucks on the peen of Lady Gaga revealed photos of White Collar actor Matt Bomer kissing a guy and revealing he is gay.
Now the former 'Chuck' star addresses said rumors in the new issue of Details:
Q: Does it bother you that so much of what's been written about you is speculation that you're gay?
A: I don't care about that at all. I'm completely happy and fulfilled in my personal life.
Q: But you don't want to talk about it.
A: I have a network and a show riding on my shoulders. I would say a big difference between my character and me is that I can be too trusting. And I've realized in this business, that's not necessarily the smartest thing to be. I definitely have a thing or two to learn from the con artists.

While he may be comfortable in his own skin to separate his personal from his professional, I don't think it's in Matt's power when uptight execs are always worrying they may lose money because women who lust after him might bail if they discover he's gay. I'm sure they advised him to keep quiet about his sexuality because they are afraid of losing the female audience that tunes into White Collar every week. Who the hell are they interviewing evangelicals and sister-wives? I'd like to know what evidence do execs have that people won't watch a show if a guy were to come out of the closet? More power to him if he chooses to make a statement, but if he's out holding hands with his significant other, or is seen making out with his ex boyfriend in 10 year old photos, I don't see why someone always has to hold a press conference everytime they sleep with someone of the same sex. The proof is in the pudding.
I say if the gay mafia weren't so scared and recognized that if they used their power for good instead of wasting so much time hiding in the closet (and advising their clients to do so as well), I think we'd be able to move past all this gay self-haterd. It doesn't matter though if he decides to make a statement if he's gay. The answer lies in his answer he gave for Details. He said he doesn't care and he's happy with his relationship. A straight man would have said no. matt is currently in a relationship with Simon Halls who the chief executive of public relations firm PMK/HBH, one of the largest and most powerful PR firms in all the land. His job is safe.
