RIHANNA TALKS ABOUT HER FAVORITE SONG AND ARTIST OF THE YEAR

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Recently, I posted a list of some of my favorite albums and songs of the past ten years. I'm not big on single praise, since I'm an avid buyer of full music from artists I support. Rihanna has just come out with her favorite artist and song of 2009.

Rihanna: song of 2009:
"Empire State of Mind" was definitely one of my favorite records of 2009 … one of the biggest records of 2009, also. It’s timeless. It’s epic, and it makes me want to be from New York every time I hear it. I’m like, wow, I wish I was in New York, or I wish I was from New York. It’s just that great feeling when you hear it."

Rihanna: artist of 2009:
"Lady Gaga. She has a very bold, fearless image and, I have to say, I have so much respect for original artists … who aren’t afraid to do what they do. That’s what I respect the most. She’s awesome."

I love Empire State of Mind when I don't hear it every five minutes on the radio (which is good since I don't listen to the radio). it's only appropriate that she pick Gaga because they have similar taste in style, and Gaga has had a big year. Since Gaga has no problem collaborating with other artists, I actually think it would be cool if they work on a duet together. Then it would feel more authentic than the useless remake of "Video Phone."
