I have been saying this for the longest, but people have become desensitized to the fact that if you lip-sync, that it's okay because you're giving theatric spectacle, and you're dancing around alot. Madonna, Kylie, Gaga and countless others who don't have the strongest voices manage to keep up with their acrobatic dancers on stage and have no problem performing live. So why is it that Britney gets a free pass? What she needs to do is take her craft seriously, and take some vocal lessons if she wants fans outside of the queeny gay community to support her music. I happened to read a recent article that
Pink was not impressed by Britney Spears as a performer because she mimes her entire catalog on stage (and doesn't care who knows it), I just had to tlk about it.
The 'Sober' singer said: "I'm not taking anything away from Britney because I really like her a lot, but I would never go to a show where the person was lip-synching."
Pink added to Women's Health: "When you grow up listening to Janis Joplin, you're not going to want to see somebody mime."
The 'Sober' star also blasted comparisons to Britney, insisting the two are very different.
"I swear to God, I've stuck up for Britney since the beginning," she told the magazine. "My point was, 'Stop comparing me to her, because we're different animals'."
I like Britney's music, and the videos have been less than stellar as of late, but I'm with P!nk on this one. There's no way in hell I'm spending $200.00 on nosebleed seats at a concert to hear you lip-sync when I can head down to the gay club and watch a drag queen do it better than you for free.
