Lady Gaga, who is on the January cover of Elle talked music, art, and waitressing:
On a recurring theme in her work: “I feel that if I can show my demise artistically to the public, I can somehow cure my own legend. I can show you so you’re not looking for it. I’m dying for you on domestic television - here’s what it looks like, so no one has to wonder.”
On being a former waitress: “I was really good at it. I always got big tips. I always wore heels to work! I told everybody stories, and for customers on dates, I kept it romantic. It’s kind of like performing.”
On using her sexuality on her album covers: "My album covers are not sexual at all, which was an issue at my record label. I fought for months, and I cried at meetings. They didn’t think the photos were commercial enough. The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself.”

More Gaga at Elle.com. Oh, and if you all get confused by next month's Elle cover, Britney and kids appear on the cover as well.

In other news, according to People, they are reporting that the Grammy's are considering changing their rules because Gaga was left out of the Best New Artist category. Her debut cd, The Fame was released in the fall of 2008 and was recently re-released in 2009 with eight new songs. For those who may not remember, Gaga was nominated last year for Best Dance Recording for her "Just Dance" single. 2009 has become the year of the Gaga, and her fans would like to see her debut get all the Grammy love it deserves. Here is what Grammy president Neil Portnow had to say:
"This particular issue in the Best New Artist category is on our radar and I would expect changes to address it in next year's voting."
So does this mean Gaga will be nominated for best New Artist next year? Because the nominees were just released, and below are the five singers, duos or groups that were nominated in the Best New Artist category:
•Zac Brown Band
•Keri Hilson
•MGMT
•Silversun Pickups
•The Ting Tings
As for who wins any of these Grammy's, I really don't give a shit. Gaga was not niminated for Best New Artist (isn't that category cursed anyway?) and Kim Zolciak's Tardy for the Party wasn't nominated for "Best New Song."
