Whether or not Buju Banton wins the Grammy he's up for this year, it looks like he won't be able to attend the awards show (or any future award shows)now the his chickens have come home to roost. The homophobic reggae star not only has GLAAD on his ass (Buju is best known for his "murder" music and was charged with allegedly putting the beatdown on six gay men outside his Kingston, Jamaica recording studio in 2004), but now has the Drug Enforcement Administration to worry about. Last Thursday the FEDS swooped down on his monkey ass in Miami after he tried to buy 5 kilos of cocaine from an undercover agent. Cops say negotiated the purchase and was observed inspecting cocaine offered by the undercover officer. Suffice it to say, he was quickly taken down and charged him with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute. I'm not too familiar with cocaine, but from what I hear somewhere that's about 15 pounds of coke. It will be real interesting to see how Buju defends these charges? In 2004 he made the argument that two mature marijuana plants magically started growing on his property while he was out of the country and he had nothing to do with it. Mmmmhmmm. All I have to say is don't drop the soap and make sure your boys send you some crazy glue so that you can shut your no no hole real tight while you're there.
