ZOMBIE'S HALLOWEEN 2 GETS A DVD/BLU RAY RELEASE DATE

Rob Zombie's Halloween II is making its DVD and Blu-Ray debut on January 12, 2010, according to Video ETA.

Dimension Film's presentation will include the director's preferred cut, and will likely feature another extensive making-of documentary.
Here is what Zombie had to say via his Twitter account a few weeks ago:

"Just finished doing the director's commentary for the DVD of Halloween 2. Love the new cut. This is the real film."

The sequel opened in August, however, it made a return this Halloween season for a brief run and has grossed $37 million worldwide to date.

Although uneven during it's theatrical release, I feel the reason H2 suffered was because Dimension wanted to hurry the film into theaters for it's August 28 release date. if Zombie were allowed more time to edit and conjure up a proper sequel (perhaps latting him release it in mid Spetember), I suppose it would have fared a better film. The first time I saw the first Halloween in theaters, I was disappointed. When I caoght the unrated director's cut, I absolutely loved it! So even though I was a bit disappointed with the theatrical version of H2, I'm sure I will fall in love with the DVD version when it comes out in january 2010.
