TRAILER TRASH: THE CHILDREN

I know Halloween has long come to pass, but that doesn't mean because the popular pagan holiday isn't here, that the love for horror films has to stop. The Children is an amazing film about two families who gather to celebrate the New Year and get caught up in unexplained terror when their young offspring turn into vicious killers. What got me about this movie is that it takes place in broad daylight, which I think is more chilling than the standard getting cut the fuck up at night fare. the film stars Rachel Shelley, Jeremy Sheffield, Stephen Campbell, Eva Birthistle and hannah Tointon. Selma Blair was originally supposed to be in The Children, but director Tom Shankland thought it would be better to go with unknowns. It's always expected when a big star signs on to do a horror movie thet they will survive at the end, so it is better (in my opinion) when you have no idea who will live and who will die at the end of a film. The Children is now available on DVD.
