Now that Whitney has slowly gotten her music career back on track, is getting her acting career back on track her next move? Rumors are circulating that a new diva may be moving to Wisteria Lane: Whitney Houston!
Whitney Houston has made a huge comeback with her new album I Look to You. Now, she is obviously looking to get back into acting. Will Whitney Houston be the one who steals Carlos away from Gabby? Will Whitney Houston be the one that develops a lesbian relationship with Katherine? Will Whitney Houston be Orson's new girlfriend? With Desperate Housewives, anything can happen.
I like the fact that finally marc Cherry is trying to add a bit of color to Wisteria Lane (besides the Solis'), but Whitney Houston? I actually think that is a bad idea. While you did have a bit of a misstep by adding Alfre Woodard in season 2, I honestly think Whitney is another bad idea. Wisteria Lane is filled with malicious, sexy, vampy women, and my idea of sexy black women who can bring the drama and the sexy is someone like Gabrielle Union, Nia Long, or Vanessa Williams (should Ugly Betty get cancelled). While she wasn't bad in Waiting to Exhale, I never saw Whitney as a convincing actress. I seriously doubt she would commit to a 14+ hour shooting schedule for a television series, when she has a booming music career to attend to. Also if she were to play a lesbian, I doubt she would go for that since those rumors plagued her for years before she married Bobby Brown.
