Just when you never had to take out your zebra print pants, feather boas and platform shoes again, it may be time to head to the back of your closet to dig them out again. According to reports, Mel B, with the help of her husband Stephen Belafonte, are orchestrating a a full-scale comeback. All the girls are on board for the reunion except one... VICTORIA BECKHAM. Posh has made it clear to the girls she won’t have the time to uproot her family again for more fun and games with her old pals. But Mel B, MEL C and GERI HALLIWELL are getting together next week whether she agrees or not, with fellow bandmate EMMA BUNTON. Baby is a little reluctant to commit to going on the road since she just had a baby of her own, but the others are sure they can persuade her to join them on tour. A source said: “This time next year at least four of the five girls will be back on stage doing the Spice material again. Both the Mels and Geri are the driving force behind making it happen. They have agreed to meet up again next week and thrash out their plans for the future of the Spice empire. Emma is being cautious but the minute she’s with the girls they’ll talk her round. When Geri left the first time, she was arguably the band’s biggest star. If they coped without her, they are confident they can make it work without Posh.” But the popularity stakes have changed since the Nineties. Posh was definitely the star attraction on the 2007 tour. I revealed a couple of weeks back that Mel and Stephen had discussed a one-off Spice Girls appearance at the World Cup in South Africa next summer. It sounds like the response has encouraged talks about another big comeback.
As much as I loved the Spice Girls growing up, do we really need another tour from them? I mean we have the Pussycat Dolls who are basically the Spice Girls with better singing voices. then again, those bitches can't even get along and there's nothing like the real thing on stage. if we can get some new music from them and they go the route of the Backstreet Boys and hook up with some of the hottest producers in the business and conjure up some hits, i can see myself interested in a Spice Girls comeback. I was also thinking Posh doesn't really need the fame or the money since being married to Divid beckham automatically gives her all the fame and security she can drown herself in.
