Well ABC daytime is about to get real interesting. According to Soapnet, actor James Franco is about to get a role on the popular soap, General Hospital. According to reports, he will play a "mysterious man" who comes to Port Charles. They would only say that James' character will makes Jason's life a "living hell." His first episode will air on November 20th and he's expected to stay for around 2-months. Don't tell me they are going to cast him as AJ back from the dead...or better yet, another one of Sonny Corinthos' illigitimate children. Geez how did Sonny have the time to impregnate most of New York City and Port Charles if he's so busy making Jason kill everyone he hates?
GH's executive producer said that it was "an honor that an actor of Franco's caliber would choose to spend some of his valuable time in Port Charles."
I've ben a fan of General Hospital for a long time, and I have to say it's the most entertaining daytime soap on television since The Sopranos went off the air (I know Sopranos is not a soap, but they have gangsters, so just making a comparison). this is actual an interesting casting choice. usually the type of people who do soaps are actors on the come-up and eventually gravitate to bigger and better things. or actors who's careers have fallen off and have madt the trek to daytime. As far as I can remember there'snever been a major A list actor who has wanted to do daytime while his career is still hot. Looking forward to seeing you invade Port Charles Franco.
