While riding the NYC subway yesterday, I finally got to read the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly (with the cast of Glee on the cover), when I got to see first hand the cast of the new A-Team in their full 80's regalia. I grew up on this show, and even had all the action figures (including the infamous black van). I even had my cabbage patch doll's hair cut into a mohawk when one time I went away to the Freah Air Fund and the family my sister and I stayed with worked at a Cabbage patch factory. Mr. beach, who worked as a truck driver for the company got me and my sister dolls, but I cried when they ran out of boy dolls and he handed me a girl one instead. So they cut it into a mohawk like Mr. T and the rest was history.
The film stars Bradley (Alias) Cooper (as Lt. Peck), UFC's Quintin "Rampage" Jackson (as Baracus), Sharlto Copley (as Murdock) and Liam Neeson (as Hannibal). The A Team, which is due out June 11, 2010 follows the same quartet of crime-fighting soldiers, who are now pursued by a military officer (Justin Timberduche's partner-in-peen Jessica Biel) who has a history with Cooper's Faceman character. how much you wanna bet she starts out with this grudge to bring them down but eventually joins the all boys club in the end? the film will not have the campy feel of the TV series. instead director Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces) is going for a hard-edged, realistic feel. Here's hoping A Team fares much better than "Aces," as well as many failed TV-to-movie franchises.
