Okay guys, there's been a bit of a minor snafu as far as the show was concerned. Since I am a film school graduate, I was planning on giving you guys the full effect of the tour by setting up my film lights, mic, and camera, but one of my classmates needed my camera to log and capture some footage, and the bastard didn't bring my camera back in time when i asked him to in the first place (which was before I left to go see kylie at Hammerstein last night). So me being anxious, i cannot wait for him to bring my camera later today, so I am forced to do a regular blog on the show. Once i get my camera, I will do a vlog where you guys will get the full effect, which I wanted in the first place. Well, i guess things don't work out the way you always want them to. But don't cry for me Argentina.

Anyways on to last night's show: Words CANNOT describe how anxious I was to see Kylie perform for the first time in America in her 20+ career. I can't also describe how the children GAGGED the moment the laser lights beamed across the room and Kylie (magazines and television CANNOT capture how beautiful she is in person...and tiny) who opened the show with "Light Years," sang her heart out (yes the bitch sings live) as Minogue was lowered down from the rafters on a giant, sparkling skull (a prop used from her X2008 tour when she sang "Like a Drug"). Afterwards she launched into a disco-ridden remix of “Speakerphone,” (another faviorite of mine from her "X" cd) and afterwards, it was a nonstop orgy of hits, beats, sexuality, sensuality, and one thing I love about Kylie is that she was never out of key and as I said before she sang live.

Also, the tour was GAY...VERY GAY! Not only because of the music and the costumes, but everywhere I turned, it was like being at a circuit party surrounded by beautiful men. Which was a good thing, because the entire concert was a non stop dance party, filled with hits from "Light Years" on down to her last cd, "X". Yes the gays love Kylie, and she definitely knows her audience, because there were many moments in the show where she had her very talented male dancers doing naughty things to each other. Showering scantily clad during "Red Blooded Woman," Having two male dancers doing sit ups while their legs were wrapped around their male partners waist, and having her male dancers doing push-ups in their underwear while in a daisy chain. It sounds sluttier on paper, but Kylie doesn't do slutty. her music is sleek and sensual, which is a much better alternative to the agressive sexual situations and choreography we often get from our pop counterparts.

It was literally orgasm after orgasm of hits, and I think I orgasmed so much during the concert, I think I shot confetti from my cannon. Kylie even sang "Where The Wild Roses Grow," a song she barely if ever performas live from her "Impossible Princess" cd. So many people have counted her out and dismissed her as a one hit wonder (three if you count "The Loco-Motion", "Can't Get You Out of My Head", and "Love at First Sight"), and have even said she cannot sing.

Unlike a certain pop tart who lost her damn mind not too long ago, Kylie proved her nay sayers wrong by singing "Your Disco Needs You" a capella. the audience even joined in and sang harmony while Kylie brought the crowd to their feet during her a capella performance (including the opera part at the end of Disco) and when she brought the drama during White Diamond/Confide In Me. She even gave us fans a sneak peek at a new track that will premiere on her next CD and I have to say when you guys hear it, she definitely has another hit on her hands.

Of course in America her biggest crowd-pleaser was when she performed "Can't Get You Out of My Head," and she bagan to lose the audience a bit when she went into more ballad-heavy fare, but the minute she she did one of my fave fave's "In My Arms," she had the entire room jumping. Honey, I haven't danced this hard since Madonna's last tour, but that's were the comparisons end because I get often sick of people comparing Kylie and Madonna. Yes they are both HUGE pop stars with a big gay following, and they both have a love for younger men, but where Madonna's music is always a bit aggressive and at times preachy, Kylie's music hits me deeper at the core of my soul. Her music is always about love, sensuality, and feeling comfortable with who you are. I also can't get it out of my head (pardon the pun).

In the past I'd often get upset when people would ask me who was I listening to, or even when I told them about Kylie's upcoming concert. I would either hear "who?" or "isn't that the 'la la la chick'?" To me, Kylie is so much more than that. Her grace as well as her humanity makes you feel you can be anything you want to be in the world once you put your mind to something. It also makes her more human (especially when she had her cancer scare). Kylie truly deserves to be a HUGE star like madonna, but I realize going from arena's overseas to doing smaller venues may not be a bad thing. Not only was her North American tour more intimate, but I felt while I was in the crowd with some of her biggest fans, Kylie was my best kept secret. Someting I can hold close to my heart like treasure found six feet underground.

If Kylie can remain untainted by the tacky music marketing machine in America, which poisons everything it touches (American Idol anyone?), this diva can continue to remain the amazing jewel in all of our crowns. Byt the end of the show, the fans wanted more more more. Hopefully with the success of this tour, we will get to see more of Kylie back in American again in a much bigger arena...our disco needs you.
